Lane Closure: Route 6 In Northern Westchester To Be Affected

Traffic on a busy main route in Northern Westchester will soon be affected by a closure that will only allow traffic to pass through a single lane controlled by a temporary signal. 

The lane reduction will affect US Route 6 in Cortlandt at the intersection with Roa Hook Road, officials said.

Beginning on Friday, July 21 at 3 p.m., Route 6 in Cortlandt at Roa Hook Road will be reduced to a single lane, according to the New York State Department of Transportation. 

Alternating traffic will be let through the single open lane by a temporary traffic signal, officials said. 

Transportation officials did not say how long the lane reduction would last. The closure is to facilitate construction work.
